Privacy Policy
TripSlap ("we", "us") is a trip-planning app for iOS, operated by Slap Studio. This policy explains what information TripSlap collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the TripSlap iOS app and the tripslap.ssslap.com website.
Information we collect
1. Account information (only if you sign in). When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address (Apple lets you hide your real email). This is used solely to identify your account and sync your data.
2. Trip content (only if you sign in). The trips you create — trip names, destinations, dates, daily activities, notes, prices, and any locations you attach to activities — are stored in our database (hosted by Supabase) so they can be synced and backed up. If you don't sign in, this content never leaves your device.
3. Purchase information. If you buy TripSlap Premium, the purchase is processed by Apple. Purchases are verified on your device with Apple's StoreKit; no third-party purchase service is involved. We never see your payment details — no card numbers, no billing address.
4. Device location (never stored by us). With your permission, the app uses your device's location to center the map and optimize routes. Your device location is used on-device only and is not uploaded to our servers. (Locations you manually attach to activities are part of your trip content, as described above.)
5. AI assistant (optional; inactive until you add your own API key). If you use the AI assistant with your own API key, your chat messages and relevant trip context are sent directly from your device to the AI provider you choose (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google). Your API key is stored in your device's secure Keychain and never sent to us. To answer questions about current places or events, the assistant may ask your chosen provider to run live web searches; those searches happen on the provider's servers, may share your query with the provider's search partners, and any search costs are billed to your own API key. Each provider's own privacy policy applies to those requests.
6. Documents you attach to a trip (device only). Photos, camera scans and PDFs you attach to a travel-info record — a passport page, a boarding pass, an insurance policy, a hotel confirmation — are stored only on your own device, in the app's storage, encrypted while the device is locked. They are never uploaded to our servers, never part of a shared trip link, and never synced to your other devices; deleting the record or the trip deletes the files.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not show advertising or use advertising trackers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not collect analytics that identify you personally.

Data retention and deletion
Your cloud data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can:
- Delete individual trips at any time, which removes them from our database immediately.
- Delete your entire account in the app (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently and irreversibly removes your account, all trips, and all associated data from our systems.
Shared trip links expire automatically 30 days after creation.
Data security
Cloud data is protected by row-level security — each account can only access its own data — and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). API keys you provide for the AI assistant are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
Children
TripSlap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. The in-app account deletion covers deletion; for any other request, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the TripSlap iOS application and the tripslap.ssslap.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Slap Studio ("we", "us"). By downloading or using TripSlap, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
TripSlap is a trip-planning tool: you create itineraries, track budgets, view your plans on a map, and optionally use an AI assistant. TripSlap is a planning aid only — it does not sell travel services, and information in the app (including AI-generated suggestions, sample trips, prices, and exchange rates) is provided for convenience and may be inaccurate or out of date. Always verify important details (opening hours, prices, tickets, visas) with official sources.
2. Accounts
You can use TripSlap without an account. Signing in with Apple enables cloud sync and backup. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account. You may delete your account at any time in Settings; deletion is permanent and removes all your cloud data.
3. Purchases
TripSlap offers optional paid upgrades ("TripSlap Premium") sold through Apple's App Store:
- Lifetime unlock — a one-time payment that permanently unlocks premium features on your Apple account.
- Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple account and handled entirely by Apple.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.
- You can restore previous purchases on a new device via "Restore Purchases".
4. AI assistant
The AI assistant is optional. If you connect your own API key (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google), your use of that provider is subject to the provider's own terms, and any usage fees charged by the provider are your responsibility. The assistant may perform live web searches through your provider to find current information; any search or usage fees the provider charges are billed to your own account. AI-generated content can be wrong; you are responsible for how you use it.
5. Your content
You own the trips and content you create. By using cloud sync or the trip-sharing feature, you grant us the limited right to store and transmit that content solely to operate the Service. Shared trip links are viewable by anyone who has the link, and expire after 30 days.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to access other users' data, reverse engineering the Service, disrupting its operation, or using it for unlawful purposes.
7. Intellectual property
The TripSlap app, name, logo, and design are our property. These Terms don't grant you any right to use them except as needed to use the app.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from travel decisions made using the app (including missed bookings, incorrect prices, or route suggestions). Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms. Sections 5, 7, and 8 survive termination.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
